Hematite and lava rock (or basalt) are both closely associated with the root chakra in Eastern philosophy. Hematite is believed to anchor your root chakra to the earth, balancing you and grounding you in the moment, while lava stone is thought to draw out your inner energies, helping you realise your desires.

Hematite has close historical ties to Mars, the Roman god of war, and ancient warriors would grind it into a powder to paint their faces red before battle. Lava rock’s porous nature makes it perfect for infusing with essential oils, giving a touch of aromatherapy to your day.

These rows of hematite and lava rock are woven onto strong nylon threads, and the surrounding weave gives it a leather-like stiffness. This men’s bracelet is closed by a braided lock featuring the Arkai logo.

If you’re unfamiliar with this kind of woven lock, the knack to tightening them is to place one end at the root of your thumb and hold it in place with your pinky or ring finger. With your free hand, you then pull the other end, tightening the bracelet around your wrist.
